Bio-based Resins

1

The cascading use of natural resources is the key to generate value whilst optimising natural resources consumption

The development model of industrialised and emerging countries has reached an expotential growth rate based on the rapid use of natural resources.

Bio Based Resins

The rapid production and consumption of goods leaves an increasingly evident ecological footprint, especially in terms of carbon dioxide emission, water and land overexploitation.

The increasing interest on sustainability in the polymers industry arises from a series of hard facts:

  • The volatility of oil price and its derivatives;
  • The introduction of regulations that require minimum bio based quantity in finished goods and/or tax incentives for the use of renewable resources;
  • The need for companies to gain market leverage and differentiate themselves.

One of the key strategies to improve sustainability of industrial processes is the adoption of the circular economy concept. AEP achieves this goal with the use of natural resources and the development of materials and formulations based on renewable resources.
