Polyurethane foams

1

Versatile biobased polyols are a key success factor for a wide range of PU foam formulations

Thermoset polyurethanes represent a versatile range of materials able to deliver advanced technical solutions.

Energetic efficiency and sustainability have become crucial in designing new buildings. Biobased materials are used in the formulation of rigid PU systems, delivering the required performances and contributing to lower significantly the carbon footprint of the insulating systems.

AEP is active in the development of brand new biobased materials for PU foam applications, particularly:

Self-catalytic polyols:

  • For spray application, continuous panels (PUR, PIR)
  • Enhanced reactivity, less catalyst
  • Higher compression strength

Polyether and polyester polyols:

  • For continuous panel production, casting and PIR
  • Functionality from 2 to 4,5
